Materials: Acrylic paint and gesso. The craquelé technique on the edges adds depth and texture through additional layering.
Carrier: 100% linen canvas, 430g/m², medium structure, stretched on an FSC wood stretcher frame. The canvas features a 3-layer primer and is universally prepared. The sides are painted, eliminating the need for a frame.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A powerful and refined portrait in which black, gold, and red come together in an almost regal appearance. Geisha 26 is entirely hand-painted and portrays the geisha in a still side profile, with downcast eyes and a serene, restrained expression.
The deep black kimono contrasts beautifully with the warm golden background. The richly detailed golden obi is especially striking: built up with relief, ornaments, and floral motifs, allowing the surface to quite literally come to life as the light falls on it.
Her hairstyle and traditional hair ornaments are also carefully rendered, with subtle red, gold, and silver accents that add an extra sense of refinement to the portrait.
The dark, worked edges give the painting a gently aged and timeless character, while further enhancing the contrast with the gold.
A unique, entirely hand-painted work of art in which Japanese elegance, tradition, and richness of detail come together.
